MHYC is proud to be only one of two USA Junior Olympic Festivals with skill-builder clinics for sailors and coaches in Opti, Laser and c420 fleets. It's the only JO on Lake Erie. This is part of a nationwide series of sailing regattas for youth ages 8 to 18 with the goal to encourage young sailors to enjoy sailing and to develop their skill. Events mix Olympic-style competition with elements of learning and fun for all levels--from beginning racers to those with Olympic aspirations. Junior Olympic Sailing is coordinated by US Sailing and sponsored nationally by West Marine, Gill and Sperry Top-Sider. Thank you to our generous local sponsors! Gold Medal Level: Andrews Osborne Academy Past Commodore Scott and Debbie Seaholm Silver Medal Level: The I-LYA Yachtsmens Fund (i-lya.org) Registrants receive an Official Junior Olympic T-shirt. Coach the Coach Clinic Registration ($75 fee) receives: Fine-tune your coaching skills, bring new ideas back to your race team or sail camp. Watch how elite collegiate head sailing coaches work with junior sailors. Work with the sailors on and off the water. Daily goals and debriefs with the head coaches and junior sailors. All meals are provided from June 26-28. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner plus evening parties on Friday and Saturday night, and awards ceremony on Sunday. Lunch will be served on the water on Saturday and Sunday. All Registrants receive an Official Junior Olympic T-shirt.
